AmSty Achieves ISCC PLUS Certification at All Facilities
"Having all plants certified is an essential step toward helping our customers demonstrate sustainability and it reinforces our committed goal that all polystyrene food packaging contains 30% recycled content by 2030," said Randy Pogue, CEO of AmSty. "It's an exciting milestone, as ISCC PLUS is the global gold standard for sustainable plastics accreditation."
AmSty's full list of ISCC PLUS certified plants are:
- Allyn's Point, Connecticut
- Cartagena, Colombia
- Hanging Rock, Ohio
- Joliet, Illinois
- Marietta, Ohio
- St. James, Louisiana
- Torrance, California
Regenyx, AmSty's joint venture with Agilyx, located in Tigard, Oregon, is ISCC PLUS certified as well. Regenyx is the world's first commercial-scale circular recycling facility for polystyrene.
The ISCC PLUS certification is awarded based on stringent requirements aimed at validating post-consumer recycled content in certain AmSty products. With all facilities certified, the company is well-positioned to continue leading the way toward a more sustainable future for the plastics industry. The ISCC PLUS credits empower eco-conscious companies to meet the needs of a public increasingly interested in buying products with a lower environmental impact.
"This product line illustrates significant progress and continued momentum as we work toward a circular plastics economy," said Pogue.
