St. James, Louisiana – July 14, 2020 – The AmSty St. James, Louisiana, plant was awarded the Regional Administrator’s Award for Safety and Health Excellence in Category II at the annual OSHA Region VI Voluntary Protection Program Participants' Association (VPPPA) Conference on May 20, 2020.

The site was also awarded for safety and health excellence in 2002, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017.

According to OSHA, the criteria for this award are, “Management Commitment to safety; Innovation in Safety & Health to reduce employees’ exposure to hazards; Proactive Hazard Identification & Correction of hazard conditions; Safety & Health Stewardship to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed; and Other Significant Accomplishments to on-site safety programs.”

Zachry and Brock Scaffolding, embedded contractors at the St. James plant, also received the 2020 Star of Excellence Award as recognition of their employees and managers for exemplary achievement in employee safety and health. Brock Scaffolding previously received the same recognition in 2017.
