AmSty-Cover-Sustainability-Report
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Mon., July 29 AmSty, the leading producer of styrene monomer, polystyrene, and certified recycled polystyrene in the Americas, today announced the release of its 2024 sustainability report, "Building Momentum." The report underscores the company's steadfast commitment to sustainability and highlights its progress in delivering sustainable solutions in its operations, for its customers, and for the planet.

"Sustainability is central to everything we do," said Dr. Randy Pogue, AmSty President & CEO. "This report reflects the significant sustainability progress we're making in our operations and in scaling up advanced recycling technology and processes."

As part of the company's commitment to sustainability, it has continually invested in its people and relationships with contractors, resulting in industry top quartile safety performance. The company recently completed a multi-year capital improvement project at its St. James, La., plant to improve operational reliability and strengthen competitiveness for the future.

Additional sustainability efforts in 2023 focused on collaboration with stakeholders to bring advanced recycling to scale and ensure it is recognized as an important part of the overall solution for addressing plastic waste. ISCC PLUS certifications and branding licenses also increased, along with sales of PolyRenew®, AmSty's circular polystyrene and styrene product, to customers in a variety of industries. In addition, AmSty is leading the industry launch of the Polystyrene Recycling Alliance (PSRA) to improve recycling access across the U.S.

"This report highlights the momentum we've created in our short history and the positive steps we've taken to promote sustainability for a better future," said Richard Shaw, AmSty Director Sustainability & Circular Economy. "It also recognizes the contributions of our leaders, employees, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders who play an important role in our sustainability journey and share our vision to reduce – and eventually eliminate – plastic waste in landfills."

AmSty offers solutions and services to customers in markets throughout the Americas. The company provides materials essential for making products that impact everyday lives, like appliances, food packaging, home furnishings, medical products, insulation, tires, shoes, and even solutions for water treatment.

The 2024 AmSty sustainability report details the sustainable features of the material it produces, the company's leadership in plastics circularity and industry-leading safety performance, and AmSty's commitment to operational excellence, environmental stewardship, corporate responsibility, and community involvement.

An additional feature in this year's report shows how AmSty products and practices support the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, which are designed to foster a better world for all. The full 2024 AmSty sustainability report – Building Momentum – is available at AmSty.com.
