Vice President – Operations and Environmental, Health and Safety
Peter Ott is Vice President – Operations and Environmental, Health and Safety of AmSty, a position to which he was named in 2007. Previously, Mr. Ott served as Vice President of Manufacturing for MEGlobal, where he led the manufacturing organization in delivering a sustainable competitive advantage through the safe and reliable operation of three world-scale ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) production plants located in Alberta, Canada.
Mr. Ott started his career at Dow Canada in 1982 as a Process Engineer at the company's Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, site. After a series of production assignments, Mr. Ott was named Production Leader of Dow Canada's Polystyrene facility in Sarnia, Ontario, in 1994. In 1995, he assumed additional responsibility for the Sarnia, Ontario, Styrene facility.
In 2000, Mr. Ott moved to The Dow Chemical Company's Michigan Operations in Midland, Michigan, as Production Leader/Business Manufacturing Leader for Saran Barrier Systems. In 2002, Mr. Ott was named Prentiss Site Director and relocated to Red Deer, Alberta.
During his assignment with MEGlobal, Mr. Ott was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chemical Producers Association and the United Way of Central Alberta. Mr. Ott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Alberta.
