The Woodlands, Texas – June 6, 2016 – Railroad transportation services company CSX has awarded AmSty a Chemical Safety Excellence award for the second year in a row, recognizing the company for its commitment to safe transportation of hazardous chemicals by rail. AmSty became eligible for the award by shipping more than 600 carloads of chemicals during the 2015 calendar year without a chemical release due to controllable factors.
The Woodlands, Texas – September 10, 2015 – Montgomery County, Texas, Precinct 3 Recycling Center is hosting “Free Recycle Day” on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at its location on 1122 Pruitt Road in The Woodlands, Texas. Residents of Montgomery County can drop off household chemical waste, paint, tires, electronics, yard waste, and other materials, for free from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Certain non-recyclable waste items will still incur regular disposal fees.
The Woodlands, Texas – August 21, 2015 – Nearly $100,000 has been awarded to grant recipients this year through a partnership between AmSty and The Foam Recycling Coalition (“FRC”). The Foam Recycling Grant program, which is partially underwritten by AmSty and led by the FRC, is intended to fund infrastructure improvements for polystyrene foam recycling. The grant specifically targeted facilities that handle products considered difficult to recycle, such as foam cups, clamshells, meat trays, and egg cartons.
Ohio Chemistry Technology Council Recognizes AmSty for Exceptional Safety and Environmental Performance
The Woodlands, Texas – June 3, 2015 – The Ohio Chemistry Technology Council (OCTC) has recognized AmSty's Hanging Rock plant for excellent performance in environmental, health, safety and security at the organization’s annual Awards for Excellence ceremony. The OCTC is the state’s most influential supporter of Ohio’s chemical industry, which is one of the largest chemical manufacturing states in the U.S.
According to the Council’s website, “The Awards for Excellence are presented to companies that have shown commitment to the protection of people and the environment, safety at its facilities and effective communications with the public...”
